The AAPM Global Board of Standards awards the MPM™ Master Project Manager board certification to qualified applicants who meet the Board’s professional requirements, which include education, formal training, professional experience, industry knowledge, ethics, and continuing education. Certification is discretionary and awarded only after review and approval by the Board of Standards.
AAPM maintains one of the highest academic and assessment standards in the profession, requiring government-recognized and accredited education, documented coursework, formal testing, and demonstrated professional competence. The MPM™ designation is unique among project management credentials in that it mandates accredited post-secondary education as a prerequisite for board certification.

AAPM operates as a Board of Standards, not a college or university. Education is delivered through independent, accredited institutions. Through long-standing recognition agreements and academic relationships, AAPM accepts completed coursework and degrees from hundreds of government-recognized business schools, universities, and law schools worldwide, including institutions accredited by widely recognized academic quality bodies.
AAPM does not operate or accredit colleges or universities and makes no claim of governmental accreditation. Rather, it evaluates education completed at recognized institutions as part of its certification review process.
Applicants outside the United States may be referred to authorized regional bodies or territorial administrators for review, coursework, examination, or processing. The Board reserves the full legal right to require that certification steps be completed within the applicant’s jurisdiction of oversight.
AAPM certification operations are administered internationally, with authorized headquarters and licensed operations in multiple sovereign regions. The Board of Standards is global in composition and may conduct its affairs in any jurisdiction permitted by law.
Certification is granted only after formal Board approval and payment of applicable processing fees. Membership and certification records may be issued digitally. Inclusion in public databases is not guaranteed and may require express consent and continued good standing.
Certification is issued on a renewable basis, contingent upon ethics compliance, continuing education, and timely payment of any applicable licensing or maintenance fees. Failure to maintain good standing requires cessation of use of all AAPM marks and designations.
AAPM does not guarantee employment, compensation, employer recognition, licensing acceptance, or governmental approval of any credential. Certification signifies that the holder has met AAPM’s standards at the time of review; it does not warrant competence, performance, or suitability for any specific role.
AAPM retains full ownership of its marks, designations, certifications, and intellectual property, and reserves the right to revise standards, requirements, policies, and agreements at any time. Certification is a privilege governed by internal policy, not a right or entitlement.
